25/01/2024

The onshore works for ScottishPower Renewables’ (SPR) East Anglia THREE offshore windfarm will be discussed at a series of public information days next month.

The drop-in sessions will give people the opportunity to find out more about the activity expected during the construction of the converter station west of Bramford and the installation of the onshore high voltage (HV) cables.

This includes topics such as traffic and transport, landscaping and ecology, and cable installation works.

The underground cables will run through pre-installed ducts along the same cable route as East Anglia ONE, which runs from Bawdsey to Bramford.

Both the project management and construction teams will be on hand to answer any questions.

East Anglia THREE is part of a trio of projects for SPR, known as the East Anglia HUB, and will be the second largest windfarm in the world when it comes into operation in 2026, 69km off the coast of Lowestoft.

Edward Rees, Community Liaison Officer for East Anglia THREE said: “These seven public information sessions will give people a chance to come along, meet the teams and find out more about this next stage of the project.

“Local people and communities are at the heart of everything we do, so events like this really matter and we hope to see as many attendees as possible.”

The events will be held at the following venues:

  • Bramford Loraine Victory Hall, Monday, February 5, 2-6pm
  • Burstall Village Hall, Tuesday, February 6, 3-7pm.
  • Bawdsey Village Hall, Wednesday, February 7, 3-7pm
