Coldham Hybrid

The Coldham Hybrid project is located adjacent to our operational Coldham Windfarm.

Current Stage

The project is currently under development with ongoing environmental surveys including local ecology, archaeology, hydrology, ornithology and access. A Planning Application for the project has been submitted to the Local Authority for determination.

Community Consultation

Early consultation is key to the way Scottishpower Renewables develops its projects, and throughout the development process we will strive to ensure local communities and stakeholders are given the opportunity to provide feedback and are kept informed of project progress. Discussion with Community Councils local to the project is ongoing.

Design Considerations

The design of the solar farm is ongoing while data in relation to the site conditions is collected. The site design will be undertaken to minimize environmental impact including the consideration of natural screening from topography and vegetation to screen out visual effects. The final solar panel locations will be dictated by the results of environmental and technical surveys.

Benefits

The project will contribute to the UK targets for renewable energy and create further employment opportunities in the local area.

With established sites throughout the UK, ScottishPower Renewables has a history of working positively with communities within the region. We are keen to ensure employment and the business skills required to maximise economic benefits can be delivered locally to ensure those who live near our sites benefit.
